Stunning...very highly recommended. I stumbled on the Inn via the website and have to say it was the most pleasurable couple of nights I have ever had. Islay has been a dream destination for many years and the Inn evidences everything that is quality about the island. Excellent food, ale, whisky, room and the warmth generated by the host David is second to none. I am an experienced world traveller. The Ballygrant Inn has an atmosphere and friendliness that is so rare in these fast pace times. For people looking for good old fashioned genuine warmth and hospitality that has Islay written all over it, this place is it! The accompanying friendliness and warmth from the Dunlossit Estate Office staff and particularly the true gentleman that is Donald James is without doubt the icing on the cake. For those looking for complete total relaxation in excellent surroundings both inside and outside - this has to be the place - excellent in all aspects.
