Arichalloch - The heart of the Rhinns

Arichalloch cottage BallimonySet in the heart of the Rhinns peninsula between Port Charlotte and Portnahaven villages, this is the perfect location for those interested in a 'chill out', or romantic holiday, as well as for the more active walking or cycling enthusiast. There are also great treats in store for the bird and wildlife watcher and the natural history fan - even for the night-time stargazer!

Arichalloch, a former crofthouse, has been recently renovated and extended to a high standard and sleeps up to four people. The accommodation comprises, on the ground floor, entrance hall, bathroom (with over bath shower), well equipped dining/kitchen seating four, double bedroom, tastefully decorated lounge with a choice of electric or open fire, widescreen TV, video DVD, and CD player. An open staircase from the lounge leads to two further, sapcious bedrooms, one twin and one double. The cottage is centrally heated throughout and has its own supply of crystal clear water. Regrettably, no pets are permitted.

We have just spent 4 amazing days at this beautiful house. The owners have given a lot of attention to home comforts and every room is beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable - even better than home!! The access road is definitely worth the trip - we will be recommending it to friends and family and hope to be back ourselves in the future. Thank you!

Here from South Carolina visiting family on Islay and booked the cottage for three days. It was wonderful! The interior is immaculate and VERY well equipped. Margery has put a lot of thought into every detail down to a dish of sweeties on the coffee table. Don't be put off by the cottage being surrounded by fields, sheep and cattle. We found the quiet very relaxing and wished we could have stayed longer. Our only suggestions would be to provide a mat to put into the bath as it was slippery and turn the heat (which was on a timer) and the water temperature down a bit. Thank-you Margery. We will certainly recommend the cottage to friends and family.
