Ineraval Farmhouse

A combination of peace and comfort - you will not find anywhere like it

Ineraval FarmhouseIneraval Farmhouse is situated in a remote and beautiful part of the Oa peninsula. Starting from the village of Port Ellen, you take the Oa Road (single track) for four miles. You then follow a further 1.8 miles of farm track. It takes a little effort, but few who make the journey doubt that it is worth it!

The farmhouse has been recently renovated and finished to a high standard. Upstairs it has two bedrooms (one double and one twin) and a shower room. At the back of the house downstairs it has a well-equipped modern kitchen, (with electric cooker, dish-washer, washing-machine and micro-wave oven); a large bathroom (with bath and separate shower cubicle); a handy utility area for coats and boots etc inside the back door. At the front it has a small porch at the front door, opening into the light and airy open plan living and dining areas, which are separated by a feature wooden staircase leading to the first floor. The living area has a wood-burning stove and satellite television as well as some books and games. The house has spectacular views towards the Mull of Kintyre and the Antrim Coast. It is decorated with original artwork by Mina Carmichael and other Islay artists. There is electric heating throughout the house.

Inveraval Farmhouse is a perfectly tranquil place and suitable to recover from a hectic everyday life. Mina and Alastair gave us a very warm welcome and made sure, that we´ve got everything we needed, including a whole Breakfast in the fridge and homemade Scones :) The House is very luxurious with a huge Bathroom on the ground floor and a smaller shower room upstairs. Two spacious bedrooms, living area with woodburning stove and a big kitchen with electric oven and modern washing machine, provide enough space for a big family. There is also electric heating throughout the house, which makes it suitable for every kind of weather. The farmroad is very well maintained by Alistair and is absolutely no problem! Takes only ten minutes to get from the farm house to the road and another 7 to 10 minutes to reach Port Ellen. A very big garden, completely fenced off, surrounds the farmhouse and on nice days you´ve got a lovely view of Bute and Ireland. Absoluetly recommendable!
