With southern aspect over the sealoch, the house retains many original features from the late 1800's, such as working shutters, cornicing, original staircase and open fires. Situated in a conservation village, this lovely house offers a peaceful retreat, within 5 minutes' walk of the local amenities, such as hotels, Post Office and museums. Port Charlotte is ideally situated in the Rhinns of Islay, affording access to the local beach and pier, whilst only 20 minutes drive from the wilder western coast, with beaches, hill walking and birdwatching all plentiful. The Lochindaal Distillery site is now being developed by Bruichladdich Distillery.
The house, now known as The Old Police House, sleeps 6 + folding bed and travel cot. There are two king size rooms overlooking the sea, and the back bedroom can be King or twin. Sitting room with open fire overlooking the sea, kitchen/dining room seating 8, with stove, again with sea view. Two shower rooms and utility room. Wifi available. TV with freesat and netflix. Fresh linen, utilities and fuel provided.
